Hi again ......

I haven't made a very good start to my original plan to write regular blog posts but life has got in the way as it often does. This blog shows a card I made on Saturday as a result of things happening in my life but it was a good thing. My son passed his BSc (Hons) in Animal Management and science so I just had to make a card for him.

First I used a creative expressions star embossing folder and cut out a frame and centre piece using Sue Wilson's Stitched Lattice Frames die. Also Congratulations three times using a Tattered Lace die which was a free gift on one of their magazines.

I then used Pebeo gilding waxes and applied them a little at a time with my finger until I was happy with the look. I then used copper shine gilding polish around the edges of my base card. I applied the embossed panel on next using 3D foam tape and then used 3D silicon adhesive to add the other pieces. I intended the three Congratulations to be off set from each other but the 2nd and 3rd ended up more in line than I intended. If I try to get something in line it never works ...... oh well !!!!

The finished card !!!

  1. Gorgeous Karen, love the black and gold! You have also reminded me that I really like that embossing folder, must write it on my mental list for Ally Pally, Jane :) X
